Oddly Specific is a tea project shaped by taste, travel, and long-standing friendships.
Founded by Anna Toro and Stephanie (Tea Sommelier), the idea began more than a decade ago, in the early days of working together at Vivino. What started as a shared curiosity around wine, tea, and hospitality slowly evolved into something more defined, more precise.
Over the past five years, that curiosity deepened into practice. Time spent across Taiwan, Japan, China, India, and Sri Lanka brought us closer to the source: small farms, generational knowledge, and a way of working that values patience over scale. What we found were teas with clarity, character, and a strong sense of place.
Oddly Specific is our way of bringing those teas, often only available locally, into a European context, without losing their origin.
We source single-origin teas in small batches directly from farmers working in harmony with nature, bringing rare, place-driven flavours to Europe. Through a select network of hospitality partners, we explore how tea can be poured, paired, and experienced beyond the familiar, and beyond matcha.
